Privacy policy
This page explains, in plain language, what CouponScout does with data when you open it. It reflects what the site actually does - not a boilerplate template. If you find a statement here that does not match something you can observe on the site, tell us and we will fix the page or the behaviour, whichever is wrong.
Who we are
CouponScout is an independent price-tracking site for consumer brand promotions. It is run by an independent developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of the brands whose promotions it lists. The site is operated at couponscout.store.
What we collect, and what we do not
- AccountsWe have no accounts, no sign-in and no user profiles. You never give us a name or a password.
- What you typeThere is no form on this site that sends us personal data. Nothing you type is stored on a server we run.
- Server logsThe site is served as static files by our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages). Like any web host, that provider may record standard request information such as IP address, user agent and time of request for security and delivery. We do not build user profiles from it.
- Cookies we setThis site itself sets no first-party cookies and stores nothing in your browser to track you.
- AnalyticsThis site runs no analytics product and no visitor-tracking script of its own.
Third-party advertising
This site may display advertising supplied by third-party advertising networks. Advertising is what pays for the scraper, the hosting and the data refresh cycle, and it is what keeps the listing pages free to read. Whether ads are currently being served is stated explicitly below.
- Ad networksAs of the last update of this page the site carried no third-party advertising code. This section describes how advertising will be handled once it is added.
- Cookies from adsAdvertising networks may set their own cookies or read a device identifier in order to measure and personalise ads. Those cookies are set by the ad network, not by us, and we cannot read them.
- Personalised adsWhere an ad network offers it, you can opt out of personalised advertising through that network's own ad-settings page. Google, for example, lets you manage this at adssettings.google.com, and general opt-outs are offered at aboutads.info.
- No ad code nowThis page is updated whenever the advertising configuration changes, so what you read here matches what the site actually loads.
Outbound links
Every deal on this site links out to the brand's own page. Those destinations are not under our control and have their own privacy policies, which we do not police. Some outbound links may be tagged so the destination can tell the visit came from here; we do not pass any personal data with them.
Children
This site is a general-audience price tracker and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, because we do not collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If what the site does with data changes - for example, if a new advertising network is added - this page is updated in the same change. The "last updated" date below always reflects the version you are reading.
